Q: Are there any contra-indications for the medicines served?
A: Not only are there some pharmacological interactions to be aware of, but your general health should be good so you can withstand the profound experience, and you should also have facilitators who highly prioritize your safety.
To minimize these risks, make sure you are in good health before your experience, and only sit with facilitators who you have researched and who you trust to take your safety as a priority.
There are some drug interactions that could be dangerous when using plant medicines such as Lithium, Tramadol/Ultram, SSRI Medications (Celexa, Lexapro, Prozac, Paxil and Pexeva, Zoloft, etc), SNRI Medications (Pristiq/Desvenlafaxin, Cymbalta/Duloxetine, Fetzima/Levomilnacipran, Effexor XR/Venlafaxine etc), Antipsychotic Medications (Haldol/Haloperidol, Loxitane/Loxapine, Mellaril/Thioridazine, Moban/Molidone, Navane/Thiothixene, Prolixin/Fluphenazine, Serentil/Mesoridazine, Trilafon/Perphenazine, Thorazine/Chlorpromazine, Abilify/Aripiprazole, Clozaril/Clozapine, Geodon/Ziprasidone, Risperdal/Risperidone, Seroquel/Quetiapine, Zyprexa/Olanzapine, etc), MAOI Medications (Emsam, Marplan, Nardil, Parnate, etc) as well as Heart or Blood Pressure Medications and Time-Released Medications.
Other conditions that will prevent someone from participating in a earth medicine ceremony include: Pregnant and/or Breastfeeding women, Transplant Donors/Recipients, Someone with Extremely Low Blood Pressure, Someone who has Seizures (or Family History of Seizures), Someone who’s just had Surgery within the past 12 months.
It's crucial to recognize that any psychedelic experience comes with psychological risks in addition to the physical ones; it can be very intense to have your perceptions and ideas substantially altered by a chemical compound.
If you're working with a skilled facilitator and have a solid support structure in place, you're less likely to experience serious consequences.
Please take the time to complete our intake form accurately and honestly upon registration to ensure your safety. We will be reviewing these and will contact you directly if there are any areas of major concern. A week or two before the retreat we will be reaching out to all registered participants to verify if the information is still accurate or if anything has changed regarding your health.
Q: Where are you located?
A: Our retreats are held in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Q: Why is the dieta important?
A: It’s important to follow the dieta not only to show your commitment to the medicine but adherence to the diet will also help ensure a cleaner and smoother experience when journeying with the medicines. Refined sugars, salts, spices and animal products are to be avoided as they can not only interfere but also severely impact one’s experience during ceremonies.

Q: How to sign up for a retreat?
A: The first step to signing up for one of our retreats is to Book A Discovery Call. From there we will have you fill out our Retreat Intake Form and then set you up for registration.
Q: When is the full payment due?
A: A $500 non-refundable deposit is required upon registration. The balance is to be paid 3 weeks prior to the start of the retreat.

Q: Do I need travel insurance?
A: While it is not 100% necessary, having travel insurance is very strongly recommended.
Q: What If I need a refund?
A: Please contact us directly for refund requests - full refunds (less the non-refundable administrative fee) can be made up to 1 week prior to the retreat start date
Q: I have (X) disability or (X) health condition - Can I attend?
A: Please see the section on contra-indications above. You will also need to complete an intake form and list any current and ongoing conditions & medications.
Q: Can I come for a day or just for 1 ceremony?
A: You are required to attend the full length of the retreat if you have already committed by completing the registration form and submitting your deposit. Once at the retreat, you are free to opt out of any ceremonies you wish not to participate in. Please see our Code Of Honor page for further information on this.
Q: What types of food will you be serving?
A: Our chef will be preparing vegan meals leading up to each ceremony. If you have any dietary restrictions please let us know when registering for our retreats.
Q: What style of yoga will be taught?
A: The style of each class will be a custom tailored experience for each given day. It will use elements of Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga, Yin, Qi Gong, and Restorative.
